On Creativity and Design :: Echo Enduring Blog
As designers, creativity is generally understood to be a big part of our industry. Often, people in this field are actually referred to as "creatives" and I've heard and been a part of discussions that label the design process as "doing the creative". Obviously, there's an important relationship, but the question that I want to consider in this article is: just how much of a role does creativity actually have in design?

2-way interview with Skype and Wirecast | The Official Wirecast Blog
Many Wirecast streamers would love to take live video call ins or one on one guest interviews. Since the complementary Desktop Presenter doesn't send audio to Wirecast, some may feel they need to resort to additional computers and mixing boards. All it takes is a way to receive the video call (Skype, ooVoo, iChatAV, etc) and with an additional low budget piece of audio software you can set up to take video calls and bring in the audio all on a single computer. The following video tutorial goes through a simple Mac setup with the addition of Skype and SoundFlower.

Congress' Old-Media Habit: $1.2 Million a Month on News and Research
The hundreds of line items for old-media purchases are among the many clues to Congress' news habits that AOL News spotted in its close reading of the House's last three Statement of Disbursements. Collecting all the invoices generated by Congress every three months, it was made available in digital form for the first time in December. Following the most recent update in June, the House's expenditures for the last six months of 2009 and the first three months of 2010 are now online, where they've been collected in a searchable database created by the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation.

Daily Hope
Saturday July 17 2010 Posted by Rick Warren But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord's victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out there tomorrow, for the Lord is with you! 2 Chronicles 20:17 (NLT)
What God tells Jehoshaphat in this passage, and what he would remind us today, is this: "The battle is not yours; it's mine. You don't have to fight in it." In other words, it's God's problem. Let him solve it. The fact is if you are God's child, then your problems are his problems. And he's much better at fighting your battles and solving your problems than you will ever be. Your job is to trust him to work it all out. Perhaps the reason we have so many tired, fatigued, and discouraged Christians is because we think, "It all depends on me." The day you resign as General Manager of the Universe, you're going to find that it doesn't fall apart. You can relax in faith, trusting that God is able to run things without your help. Twice in this passage it says, "Don't be afraid," and "Don't be discouraged." When you face a seemingly impossible situation, don't be afraid and don't be discouraged. Has God ever lost a battle? No. He doesn't lose battles. God tells Jehoshaphat, "Take your positions and stand firm." What does it mean to stand firm? It means to have a mental attitude of quiet confidence. You stand firm on two things:

Key Metrics for Successful Web Video Advertising Campaigns
Are You Sharing Too Much on Facebook? | Terry White's Tech Blog
My buddy A. J. Wood alerted us all to the fact that Walmart now has a Facebook Application that allows people to print their photos directly from Facebook to Walmart. Nothing wrong with that right? While on the surface that seems pretty harmless, it does open up photographers who post their images online, perhaps in hopes of drumming up more business to having their images printed by the people that they tag in the photo without their knowledge or consent. There has always been a lot of controversy surrounding Facebook's Terms of Service and Privacy. However, the way I see it is that if you're really that concerned about someone ripping your photo off, then you probably shouldn't put it online in the first place. Nonetheless, A. J. offers a simple way to fix this one issue on his blog.

Leadership Integrity Ethics and Morals | Lead Change Group
There is much to discuss in the relationship between leadership, integrity, ethics and morals. Many people have opinions on the meaning of the words and they way they're applied. Jim Furr, of Tulsa Executive Events has written a series of articles titled Pointers in Proverbs making drawing relevant wisdom for living from the biblical text. He connects leadership, integrity and ethics in an interesting way that I thought would start some discussion. See what you think.
